Educational Interpreter Development Program

With generous funding from the Tennessee Department of Education, in May 2023, BridgesDHH launched a five-year Educational Interpreter Development Program with the goal of recruiting and training 240 educational interpreters skilled enough to pass the EIPA and obtain licensure in the state of Tennessee. EIDP, with over 80 mentees to date, is FREE and open to residents of Tennessee or anyone employed in a Tennessee public school system. Check out all that's included below. There are tracks that last from one to five years based on beginning skill level and qualification. You and your coordinator will match you to the best track. You will also be matched with Deaf mentors and Interpreter mentors.
